Seb Bloom - Director

Seb is a qualified coach in football, rugby and athletics and has significant experience having worked for the largest sports coaching company in the UK, the number one football coaching company in the USA and a professional football club. During this time, he has coached more than 50 schools and teams.

Seb is responsible for the recruitment, selection and training of all coaches, while carrying out regular assessments to ensure  that our high standards are maintained.

He has a degree in Sport Science and Management from Nottingham Trent University. He also works for Chesterfield F.C. at the Centre of Excellence, coaching the under 13's and under 10's teams and is currently undertaking his UEFA B football coaching license.

Nick Gordon Brown - Office Manager

Nick has been working in grass roots football for some 9 years and is well known around the Nottingham leagues having coached hundreds of boys & girls at West Bridgford Colts, one of Europe's largest youth football clubs. In 2008-9 he won Notts FA's volunteer coach of the year for his work in local schools, and in setting up WBC's 'mini colts' section for 4-7 year olds. He still oversees this project every weekend, overseeing a team of some 35 volunteer coaches working with nearly 200 kids.
 
This brought him to the attention of Excel, for whom he started coaching early in 2010, becoming office manager later that year, utilising 20 years' experience working in the independent sector of the music industry.
 
Nick is a Level 2 football coach, and has also completed the FA's Youth Module 1 age appropriate coaching course, and is set to take Module 2 later this year. He has also recently qualified as a tag rugby coach.

Alessandro Barcherini - Sport Development Officer

"Sandro" left Notts County FC after being selected a handful of times for the first team squad Between 2002 -2004. He moved on to play in America and began coaching over there in 2004 before returning to the UK in 2007. After a brief spell with Conference side Tamworth FC he dropped into Semi Pro Football and went to University at Nottingham Trent to pursue a degree in Sport Leisure & Outdoor Management. He holds an FA Level 2 in Coaching football and is beginning his UEFA B License in the summer, as well as his Goalkeeper UEFA B License.

Mark Cook - Senior Coach

Mark is level 2 football coach, a level 1 cricket, tennis and badminiton coach and is currently working towards his UEFA B Licence. He has worked for Excel since 2009 coaching a number of sports in local schools. Before that he worked for Notts County football in the community and the centre of excellence coaching the under 12 team.  He also currently works for the the Nottingham school's FA coaching the under 14s.
 

Michael is a Level 2 qualified coach. He has previously worked for Reading F.C. and Farnborough Town and has a wealth of experience in coaching children.

He is also currently studying Sport Science and Management at Nottingham Trent and represents the University Rugby League Team.

Dave Turner - Coach

Ben Thompson - Coach

Ben is a qualified primary school teacher who has been teaching for 4 years. His specialism in teaching P.E. bought him to Excel where he works during the school holidays. Ben has taught at a variety of schools ranging from small independent schools, large inner city schools and currently in a primary school in West Bridgford. Ben coaches a variety of sports all of which are supplemented by his experience of teaching P.E. from the national curriculum.

Natasha Patel - Coach

Natasha Patel is currently studying a Masters in Sports Science at Nottingham Trent University and also holds a degree in Sports Science from Liverpool John Moores University.  She is a Level 1 qualified coach looking to undertake her Level 2 this year and has previously worked for Swindon Town FC.

Dave Hall - Coach

Dave has been with Excel since 2008 and has coaching experience of over 8 years, he is a qualified level 2 football coach. During those 8 years he has worked for Nottingham Forest and Derby County and has spent the last 3 summers working with Bolton Wanderers International Academy in countries such as Spain, Turkey & Cyprus.

Rosie Taylor - Coach

Rosie joined excel in the summer of 2010, she is one of our youngest coaches and is a fully qualified level 1 womens artistic gymnastics coach and a level 2 cheerleading coach. She received an A* at GCSE P.E. and is currently a member of the 'Midlands Leadership Academy'. She has been a n active gymnast all her life and is also a cheerleader for a team she helps to coach.
