We are always more than happy to offer a free day of coaching to your school so that you can see first-hand the work we can do!

We are currently offering primary schools in and around Nottingham the chance to enjoy sports coaching sessions during After-School, Lunchtime and Breakfast Clubs, PE lessons or PPA cover.

Extra-Curricular Clubs

Our after-school and lunchtime clubs are designed for children of all abilities to receikve professional sports coaching during the school term. Each venue is run on a 16:1 child/coach ratio, ensuring each child receives maximum coaching and the sessions aim to cover main coaching topics. With the introduction of new extended school hours, we can offer exciting solutions to fill this time in the form of breakfast clubs that can be run on the same basis, or if your school has a nursery attached we have had great feedback from the younger years too. We can also deal with all the paperwork from writing letters to creating registers so there is nothing for you to worry about. Our clubs can be school or parent funded or even a mixture of the two depending on the location and requirements of your school.

PPA/PE cover

The introduction of PPA in September 2005 brought challenges for schools to cover the void in teaching time. Excel can help not only to fill the gap but enhance the quality of sport provision in schools.

The benefits include:

Helping reach the government's aim of 2 hours of structured physical activity per week covering the National Curriculum.
Professional and specialised sports coaches can boost the quality of teaching in an area where some teachers may feel uncomfortable.

Fundraising

Excel have been helping schools in your area raise money for new equipment and for charity and this is your chance to join in the fun ! To date, EVERY SCHOOL that has taken part has raised over £500, can your school afford not to take up this offer?

Participants receive;

• Certificate
• Trophy for the highest scoring boy and girl in each year group.
• Highest sponsorship in the school also receives a replica shirt of their choice.
• Extra prizes including, water bottles, shin pads, and footballs.

All these prizes will be presented in a presentation assembly where the school will also receive a cheque from us for the amount of money raised. The local paper will also be asked to give coverage of the school's achievements. The competition enables each child to take 5 or 10 penalties (depending on age) against an Excel Coach. The more penalties they score, the more money they make for your school and a charity of the school's choice. Each class will be given a time slot so the day runs smoothly ensuring the children only miss thirty minutes lesson time at most. The competition can involve the whole school or just selected year groups of the school's choice. Excel will hold an assembly explaining the rules and more importantly advising children how to gain their sponsors SAFELY. As usual, all administration is also completed by Excel Sports Coaching.

Starting NEW this year we also have the ‘Excel-erator Challenge! This runs in the same way as the penalty shoot-out but each child takes 5 shots at a goal and our speed gun measures how fast they kicked it. Each child receives a certificate with their highest score and various prizes can be handed out along with the big cheque for your school in an assembly!

Good Behaviour Reward Schemes

This can be adapted to run alongside your existing formats and we can add extra incentives and rewards in a format that fits your school.

Fundays/Summer Fetes

We can come along in any capacity, running events, competitions or taking part in presentations.

Healthy Living Workshops

We are fully supportive of the curriculum-based Healthy Schools Week. To reinforce the messages and mirror your school's programmes, we can offer you Healthy Living Workshops. Each workshop contains both theory and practical elements, carefully designed to help each class develop an understanding in an interactive environment.

Many of our staff are Sport Scientists and therefore have a wide knowledge base in this area.
