About Us

We are currently offering primary schools in and around Cheltenham the chance to enjoy football, TAG-Rugby and multi sports coaching sessions during After-School, Lunchtime and Breakfast Clubs, PE lessons or PPA cover.

We are a specialist sports coaching company with enthusiastic, experienced, qualified and professional coaches. We can boost the quality and quantity of activities you currently offer. In most cases, there is no cost to the school, in fact, many of our programmes will actually generate school funds!

After-School Clubs / Lunchtime Clubs / Breakfast Clubs

After-School Clubs are designed for boys and girls of all abilities to receive professional sports coaching. The provision is for one hour at the end of the school day. After-School Clubs run during the school term and aim to cover the main coaching topics in each sport that we offer (currently football, tag-rugby and athletics). Each venue is run on a 16:1 child/coach ratio, ensuring each child receives maximum coaching. With the introduction of new extended school hours, we can offer exciting solutions to fill this time, not just with in-house school clubs, but also tailored programmes according to the needs of your school. We can also offer Breakfast or Lunchtime Clubs run on the same basis. Where the cost of a club is funded by parents, the school will receive a contribution per child.

Cost for After-School Club: No charge to school. £3 per session charge to the parent/carer of the child. (All sessions to be paid for in advance)

Cost for Breakfast Club/Lunchtime Club: If funded by the school, £20 per hour, per coach. Alternatively, £3 per session charge to the parent/carer of the child with 50p per session, per child going to the school. (All sessions to be paid for in advance)

As a goodwill gesture for inviting us to coach a Breakfast/Lunchtime/After-School Club, we can arrange our Sponsor-a-child Penalty Shoot-Out event in order to boost school funds. This is always very successful and popular and includes two coaches coming into school for the day and setting up a Penalty Shootout Competition. Prizes can be given out at a presentation assembly afterwards to those children who gain the most sponsors

Coaching Camps

Our Coaching Camps are very popular with parents who are looking for quality activities for their children during school holidays, including Half-Term. We provide a football coaching camp for children of all abilities looking to learn skills including dribbling, passing, ball control, turning and shooting. They also get the chance to put their skills into practice with small-sided games. The camp runs from 9.00am to 3.00pm and there is no requirement for the school to take responsibility for the children on the day, as the course is managed and run by the Excel Sports Coaching team. To run these camps, we would require the use of the school field/hall and toilet facilities in return for a negotiated fee, payable to the school. Please note multi-sport coaching camps will soon also be available.

Cost for Coaching Camps: No charge to school. Negotiated Fee paid to the school for the use of facilities. Maximum of £14 charge per day, per child to the parent/carer.

Good Behaviour Reward Schemes

This can be adapted to run alongside your existing formats and we can add extra incentives and rewards in a format that fits your school.

Fundays/Summer Fetes

We can come along in any capacity, running events, competitions or taking part in presentations.

Cost for Specialised Support Projects: Prices negotiable or can be included in the take up of other packages.

Healthy Living Workshops

We are fully supportive of the curriculum-based Healthy Schools Week. To reinforce the messages and mirror your school's programmes, we can offer you Healthy Living Workshops. Each workshop contains both theory and practical elements, carefully designed to help each class develop an understanding in an interactive environment.

All of our staff are Sport Scientists and therefore have a wide knowledge base in this area.

Cost for the Healthy Schools Week: £20 per hour, per coach. Day rate negotiable.
